Haskap Berry Health Benefits

It was love at first sight  ! My better Half started my obsession with Haskaps with 3 , I thought to be dead sticks she brought home from a year end local plant sale . She's so thrifty ,  I love her to ! I have severe adhd & ocd so ... What's a haskap berry ?  Super fruit , super healthy ! Sold ! Next thing you know I've planted alot of Haskap's with the help of my Family . 365 days a year we eat haskaps now .  I personally have a haskap smoothy for my fresh start to the day and atleast 1 haskap freezie every afternoon for a refresh . They make me feel good ,  help me focus and give me energy . So funny ,  I never even herd of a haskap berry . I'm thankful my Wife brings home orphand plants and  haskap berries found me . 

For us Hobby Farming is about mental , physical and spiritual well being . It's about Dreams , ideas , risks , long hours , hard work and  accomplishments . Its about slowing down , appreciating the little things , treating ourselves to our best and having the chance to offer something healthy to you . 

We grow a variety of top-producing Haskap berries , including Aurora, Zojak, Honey Bee, Beauties,  Beasts, and Strawberry sensation. Each of these brings something unique to the table with their distinct shapes, sizes, and flavors. By planting a diverse mix, we not only enhance the richness of our harvest but also extend our fresh berry season-sometimes lasting up to 6 full weeks-thanks to staggered pollination and fruiting times.

We use naturally composted manure from our goats, chickens, and pigs to enrich our soil. When needed, we also supplement with locally sourced "A" grade composted manure.

We protect our crops using traditional methods, these include- Companion planting, continuously inspecting-removing unwanted pests while encouraging benificail insects, and letting our free range chickens have more free range spring and fall. Combined with treated wooden fence posts, deer fencing, and bird netting. These solutions help preserve our harvest while respecting the surrounding wildlife. 

We use certified organic fertilizer & pesticide OMRI listed. This responsibility is taken very seriously and only used as a last resort, in the event of nutrient deficiencies and pest management. 

We do not apply for or receive farm tax rebates , grants  or subsidies. 

While plastic can't be completely avoided-especially for our freezies we're committed to sourcing eco-friendly packaging whenever possible. We use pulp fiber baskets for our fresh berries, paper kraft barrier resealable bags with viewing window for frozen and freeze dried products, and glass jars with metal lids for jams and sauces.
