We are Micro-Farmers, which means we do everything by hand and stay closely involved in every part of the process. This lets us give our full attention to even the smallest details.
Our main crop is Haskap Berries, known for their rich flavor and amazing health benefits. We also grow a small crop of Rasberries that add a sweet touch to our harvest.
With hard work, care, and dedication were growing berries we're truly proud of.
We grow a variety of top-producing Haskap berries , including Aurora, Zojak, Honey Bee, Beauties, Beasts, and Strawberry sensation. Each of these brings something unique to the table with their distinct shapes, sizes, and flavors. By planting a diverse mix, we not only enhance the richness of our harvest but also extend our fresh berry season-sometimes lasting up to 6 full weeks-thanks to staggered pollination and fruiting times.
We prioritize sustainability through equity, fairness, and wellbeing, focused on long-term viability. Our efforts center on reducing pollution and carbon footprint while conserving and preserving biodiversity.
We use naturally composted manure from our goats, chickens, and pigs to enrich our soil. When needed, we also supplement with locally sourced "A" grade composted manure.
We protect our crops using traditional methods, these include- Companion planting, continuously inspecting-removing unwanted pests while encouraging benificail insects, and letting our free range chickens have more free range spring and fall. Combined with treated wooden fence posts, deer fencing, and bird netting. These solutions help preserve our harvest while respecting the surrounding wildlife.
We use certified organic fertilizer & pesticide OMRI listed. This responsibility is taken very seriously and only used as a last resort, in the event of nutrient deficiencies and pest management.
While plastic can't be completely avoided-especially for our freezies we're committed to sourcing eco-friendly packaging whenever possible. We use pulp fiber baskets for our fresh berries, paper kraft barrier resealable bags with viewing window for frozen and freeze dried products, and glass jars with metal lids for jams and sauces.
